Meet Our Teachers

Bobby Carpenter / Bikram Style / YinYang

As an athlete Bobby knows how important it is to include strength, flexibility and a cardio workout as part of an overall fitness routine. Many years ago a fellow runner invited him to try hot yoga as a way of increasing his speed, improving his form and avoiding injury. Being the athlete that he is; a runner, bicyclist, swimmer, & kayaker he added hot yoga to his daily workout to gain flexible and stay injury free. After a month of practice Bobby’s wife Robin noticed his running stride had greatly improved, he looked more flexible, and was running much faster. Many of his racing friends were noticing his whole style of running had changed and started asking what he was doing to improve so dramatically in such a short time. He knew it was the hot yoga!  He committed to hot yoga every day for a year and a half, and was winning races, playing incredible tennis, doing 2-3 activities a day (and working a full time job) & he felt better than he ever had! His excitement was so great that he told everyone he knew about the benefits of hot yoga – he knew he had found the fountain of youth! Bobby began teaching his fellow racers yoga in the park, before their workouts, using the exact series he had learned from the studio.  Eventually he was going to the studio just once in awhile to do the “hot” yoga.  He realized his race times were getting slower, he was beginning to get nagging injuries and his energy wasn’t the same. This yoga series outdoors just didn’t give the same results. He realized the incredible benefits come from the 26 postures done in a heated room. When asked to teach at the local studio he was thrilled! It didn't take long for Bobby & Robin to realize they wanted to share the benefits and excitement with as many people as possible!

On April 9th 2005 “Hot Yoga At Sunrise” was born.

Robin Carpenter / Bikram Style / YinYang

I was like a lot of people, when I first heard of "hot" yoga - yoga practiced in a 105 degree room, I had no doubt - this was not for me!  But after watching Bobby "transform" I realized there was something very special about this yoga. I decided to try it pretty much knowing I couldn't take the heat.  After my first class I was hooked and realized this could get me in the best shape of my life - Fast! As Bobby continued practicing hot yoga I joined him and found a studio close to work so I could  practice every day as well. We studied anything remotely linked to yoga and took as many classes as we could fit into our schedule. As time went on we knew we had to do something to share this yoga with our neighbors and friends and create a place that we could do our yoga together and contribute to our community. As it is with things that are meant to be we found a great location right around the corner from home! Since opening the studio in April of 2005 Bobby and I have done the practice and shared the practice every day. We continue to grow with our practice our teachers and our students.

Patti Mueller / Bikram Style

I am a long time student of various styles of hatha yoga , but after my first Bikram class, I knew this was the style for me. After taking classes for 4 years I was able to attend the 2 month teacher training in Los Angeles with Bikram and his senior teachers.  Yoga and meditation are the absolute best methods for keeping your body, mind & spirit in balance.  I am amazed by the strength, flexibility and focus I have gained thru my practice.  The challenge of mastering the postures keeps my always striving to do my best.  My yoga discipline enhances my meditation practice and my meditation practice deepens my yoga experience - a win, win combination! It is a joy to teach this ancient art and watch my students progress on the path of enlightenment - Namaste!

Ping Yu  / Chi Yoga / YinYang

Ping truly believes Yoga can bring everyone to a higher level of positive energy and deep meditation. Her persona mantra is:

"By practicing Yoga you are practicing to be a better - higher being"

As a student she has studied Yoga in several styles for many years. Now as a teacher, she continues to refine her skills by experimenting with several forms of

physical and spiritual practices. She is dedicated to exploring and sharing an inner connection in her own unique interpretation of the state of Yoga.

By blending Hatha asanas with Chinese Tai Chi movement the body is brought into a natural state of balance and harmony.

The two opposing, yet complementary, qualities of Yin and Yang are brought into one practice to help you develop strength and poise.

Practicing Yoga will increase your awareness of mind, body and spirit. Come and join Ping and grow.

Ashley / Bikram / Vinyasa / YinYang

I took my first yoga class when I was 17 years old and was instantly hooked. As a fitness and health junkie, I was originally drawn to yoga for the physical benefits alone. However, over the years the reasons I keep coming back to the mat extend far from just the killer workout. Yoga has taught me to check in with my body and listen to what it is telling me, to quiet chatter of my mind, to know my limits and test them, and most importantly to always remember to breathe. Teaching has given me the opportunity to share the beautiful gift of yoga with others and I am addicted to the joy and energy I get from my students. Each practice is a step toward greater self discovery and I am honored to help guide my fellow yogis on this journey.

Summer Sub!

Rachel  / Bikram / Vinyasa / YinYang

I have been practicing yoga since I was 15 years old and have fallen in love with the lifestyle, people, and community that yoga has brought to my life. I make sure everyday that I have dedicated at least a half hour to my yoga practice. Yoga has been an integral part of my development as a young individual. It has helped me gather inspiration and motivation to heal from a life threatening injury I suffered in 2007. Yoga helped me regain strength and flexibility, which I lost from being in an immobile state for a long period of time. Even as a long practicing student, I am still committed to increasing my knowledge and perfection of my yoga practice. I am so grateful to be given the opportunity to transition from yogi to serving as a teacher to fellow yogis. Practicing many forms of yoga is important and I have been a student in many types including: Bikram, Vinyasa, Yin/Yang, Chi, Kundalini, and Power Yoga. I am looking forward to meeting and practicing yoga along side all of you. Namaste!
